LeoVegas is the clear pick for anyone in the UK. It holds a Gambling Commission licence, its casino welcome offer is 50 free spins with no wagering on the winnings, and withdrawals usually land within 1 to 3 business days of approval. BetPlays is an offshore casino and sportsbook whose Anjouan licence number does not appear on the Anjouan register, whose own two sets of terms disagree on its bonus wagering, and which showed UK visitors a block page. The biggest difference is regulation: one answers to the Gambling Commission, the other to nobody you can check.
Facts on this page are as of 20 October 2026.

Who runs them, and the licence
LeoVegas is run by LeoVegas Gaming PLC, registered in Sliema, Malta. The Gambling Commission register lists it as account 39198, licence 039198-R-319450-029, with every part active: remote casino since 1 November 2014, remote betting since 29 April 2016 and remote bingo since 26 February 2018. It has no regulatory actions on record. The same account also carries 21.co.uk, betmgm.co.uk, betuk.com, pinkcasino.co.uk and slotboss.co.uk. Customer money is held in separate accounts at the Commission's medium protection level.
BetPlays trades from betplays.com. Its terms name Creative Alliance Solutions Limited, a company registered in Hamchako, Mutsamudu, Anjouan, as operator, and the footer says the brand is managed by CASL Creative Alliance Solutions, a Cyprus company at Patsalos House, Larnaca. The licence it quotes is ALSI-202408023-FI2 from the Government of Anjouan. That number is not on the Anjouan Gaming register, and neither the company nor the domain comes up there. BetPlays has no entry on the Gambling Commission register.
The two are not connected. Different companies, different regulators, and betplays.com is not among the domains on LeoVegas's register entry. Our guide to checking a UK casino licence shows how to run the same search yourself.
Winner: LeoVegas (an active Gambling Commission licence with no actions, against a licence number the issuing regulator does not list)
UK access
LeoVegas runs a UK site under its Gambling Commission licence, and sign-up there is open to UK residents. BetPlays is less clear. Its terms bar residents of Aruba, Bonaire, Bulgaria, Comoros, Curaçao, Cyprus, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Myanmar, North Korea, Saba, Singapore, St Maarten, Statia, the USA and Ukraine. The United Kingdom is not on that list. Even so, on 20 October 2026 betplays.com showed UK visitors a Sorry, you have been blocked page instead of the lobby.
Do not try to get round that. BetPlays treats VPN use as fraud, and its terms let it block the account and forfeit every balance without notice.
Winner: LeoVegas (open to UK players under its own licence)
Welcome offer and wagering, worked through
LeoVegas keeps it simple. Opt in to the Casino Welcome Offer, deposit £10 or more within 7 days of registering, then wager that £10 once on eligible casino games within 7 days. Slots, instant games and Slingo count; table games and live casino do not. You then get 50 free spins on Big Bass Splash at 10p each, £5 of spins in total. The spins last 3 days and whatever they win is withdrawable with no wagering. Your real balance can be withdrawn at any time without losing the reward. Sports customers get a separate deal: deposit £10 and bet £10 to receive three £10 Bet Builder free bets, valid 7 days.
BetPlays advertises a 200% first-deposit bonus, paired with either 50 free spins (casino) or a 10% free bet (sports). The banners give no maximum bonus. The terms are where it falls apart, because BetPlays publishes two sets that contradict each other:
- Its general terms set casino bonus wagering at 30 times the bonus, sports at 15 times, with 30 days to finish.
- Its bonus terms set casino bonuses at 60 times, sports at 24 times, free spins at 60 times and no-deposit bonuses at 99 times, with bonuses expiring after 7 days.
Both documents cap welcome-bonus winnings at 8 times the bonus and set a maximum bet of €5 a spin. Expect the stricter set to be applied.
Work it through on a €100 deposit. The 200% bonus adds €200. Under the bonus terms you must bet €12,000 of bonus money within 7 days, and the real balance is staked first. The general terms also require the real balance to be wagered 3 times the deposit, another €300, once a deposit bonus is claimed. However well it goes, the most that can turn into cash is €1,600, 8 times the bonus. Games from Playson, Booongo, Habanero, Spinomenal and five other studios do not count towards it. Under the general terms the same bonus would need €6,000 of bets over 30 days. Our wagering requirements guide explains how these multiples add up.
Winner: LeoVegas (no wagering on spin winnings, against €12,000 of bets in 7 days on a €100 deposit)
Games and betting
LeoVegas splits its lobby into slots, Megaways, jackpots, instant win, bingo and table games, with a live casino covering roulette, blackjack, game shows, poker and its own LeoVegas Exclusive tables. Its LeoJackpot network has four tiers, Mini to Mega, on hundreds of games, and the promotions page puts the pot at over £44,000,000. LeoVegas does not publish a game count. The sportsbook covers football, horse racing, tennis, rugby union and golf, with a £250,000 maximum payout on sports bets.
BetPlays claims more than 5,000 games from over 30 providers, live dealers from Evolution and Ezugi, and a sportsbook with esports. It publishes the bigger number, but UK visitors were shown a block page, not that lobby.
Winner: LeoVegas (BetPlays claims the bigger library, but UK visitors were shown a block page instead of the lobby)
Payments and withdrawals
LeoVegas takes debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and bank transfer, all from £10. Credit cards are not accepted. Its payment table lists withdrawal maximums of 8,000 for cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, 4,000 for PayPal and 35,000 for bank transfer, with a £10 minimum. LeoVegas charges no withdrawal fee, and once a withdrawal is approved the money usually arrives within 1 to 3 business days. Withdrawals go back to the deposit method and cannot be cancelled once requested. One cost to know: an account left dormant is charged a £5 monthly administration fee.
BetPlays processes withdrawals within 5 banking days and caps ordinary players at €2,000 a day and €5,000 in any 7 days. VIPs get €8,000 per 7 days, and VIP status is at BetPlays's discretion. Only one withdrawal can be pending at a time. Wins over €50,000 may be paid in monthly instalments of up to €50,000. Submitting a withdrawal voids any active bonus. It takes fiat and crypto but does not list its methods outside the cashier. Our fast withdrawal casinos guide covers UK sites that pay faster still.
Winner: LeoVegas (1 to 3 business days with no fee, against 5 banking days and €5,000 a week)
Safer gambling and complaints
LeoVegas offers daily, weekly and monthly deposit, net deposit, stake and loss limits, plus session limits and time alerts. A limit can be lowered instantly; raising one takes 24 hours. Time-outs run from 1 day to 6 weeks, and self-exclusion from 6 months to 5 years, covering every site on the LeoVegas Gaming PLC licence. As a licensed operator it must also honour GAMSTOP. Complaints go to [email protected], and after a final answer or 8 weeks you can take the dispute to IBAS for free.
BetPlays's responsible gambling policy offers self-exclusion by emailing [email protected], and its homepage mentions deposit limits and cool-off periods. It is not part of GAMSTOP. Complaints go to the same address, and the terms end the process there: "our judgment is final". No independent dispute service is named.
Winner: LeoVegas (self-service limits, GAMSTOP and a free independent dispute service)
Mobile and app
LeoVegas was founded in 2012 around mobile play and has native apps on the App Store and Google Play. BetPlays's own instructions in August 2026 described its app as a shortcut added to the home screen from Safari or Chrome, not a store download.
Winner: LeoVegas (native iOS and Android apps)
Which should you choose?
Pick LeoVegas if you live in the UK. It is licensed here, the welcome spins pay real money with no wagering, withdrawals usually land in 1 to 3 business days and you have GAMSTOP and IBAS behind you. For UK-licensed offers with no wagering at all, see our no wagering casinos guide.
Pick BetPlays only if you are outside the UK, want a 200% match, and accept wagering of up to 60 times in 7 days, an 8x cap on what the bonus can pay and a €5,000 weekly withdrawal limit, all from a company whose licence number the issuing regulator does not list.
LeoVegas and BetPlays alternatives that take UK sign-ups
BetPlays wagers its casino bonuses 60 times under its bonus terms and showed UK visitors a block page on 20 October 2026. JetSetSpins and NeonStake wager their first-deposit bonuses 20 times the bonus, and neither lists the United Kingdom among its restricted countries. Unlike LeoVegas, neither is licensed in Great Britain or holds a licence we could verify on any regulator's register, so GAMSTOP and UK protections do not cover them.
JetSetSpins gives a choice on the first deposit: 200% up to £10,000 plus 100 free spins from £30, with 20x wagering on the bonus only and seven days to clear it, or 250 free spins with no wagering at all. Either way the deposit also unlocks the Royal Wheel, one free spin a day for seven days.
NeonStake matches the 200% up to £10,000 plus 100 free spins from a lower £20 deposit, at the same 20x on the bonus, or 200 wager-free spins from £50. It also pays 10% of the previous day's slot losses back every day as cash, with no wagering.
Both are sister sites on one platform, with casino, live casino and sportsbook on a single account. They pay out in crypto only, £100 to £500 per request. Neither names the company behind it, and neither holds a licence we could verify on any regulator's register, so GAMSTOP and the UK complaints route do not cover them. If you have self-excluded, they are not for you. Both offers and their full terms are side by side on our casino offers page.

Frequently asked questions
Is LeoVegas the same company as BetPlays?
No. LeoVegas is run by LeoVegas Gaming PLC under Gambling Commission account 39198. BetPlays names Creative Alliance Solutions Limited, an Anjouan company, with a Cyprus company managing the brand. BetPlays is not among the sites on the LeoVegas licence.
Can I use one account on both?
No. They are separate companies with separate accounts and wallets. A LeoVegas self-exclusion covers every site on the LeoVegas Gaming PLC licence, but it does not reach BetPlays.
Which pays out faster?
LeoVegas. Approved withdrawals usually arrive within 1 to 3 business days with no fee. BetPlays processes withdrawals within 5 banking days and limits ordinary players to €2,000 a day and €5,000 in any 7 days.
Is BetPlays available in the UK?
The United Kingdom is not on the restricted-country list in its terms, but betplays.com showed UK visitors a block page on 20 October 2026. It holds no Gambling Commission licence, and its terms treat VPN use as fraud that can forfeit the whole balance.
Which has the better welcome bonus?
LeoVegas for most players. Its 50 free spins cost a £10 deposit wagered once, and the winnings carry no wagering. BetPlays offers a 200% match, but its bonus terms ask for 60x wagering in 7 days and cap welcome-bonus winnings at 8 times the bonus.
Is BetPlays licensed?
It quotes Anjouan licence ALSI-202408023-FI2, but that number is not on the Anjouan register, and BetPlays is not on the Gambling Commission register either. Its general terms and bonus terms also give different wagering figures for the same bonuses.
